Manami Tamura (田村 麻奈実, Tamura Manami?) is one of the main characters in the series. She is Kyousuke's childhood best friend and classmate. She is described as a 'plain' and "normal" girl, which contrast to the rest of the girls' personalities. Kyousuke always relays on her when he needs help. Kirino hates her and blames her for multiple things in her life, but despite Kirino's thoughts, Manami meets and becomes friends with the rest of the girls, especially Ayase and Kanako.
Despite Kyousuke being oblivious to Manami's feelings, she continues to love him unconditionally and would support his romance with any girl other than Kirino due to their relationship as brother and sister.
Appearance[]
Manami has short, dark brown hair with bangs over her forehead and some slightly framing her face. Her eyes are light grey, accompanied by her red-rimmed glasses. Despite seeming plain, she is considered to have a cute face and is quite popular among the boys in her class. Besides her school uniform and job outfit, in contrast to Kirino and Ayase, she's mostly seen wearing casual and confortable clothes and doesn't follow fashion trends, and when she tries, results aren't good. In the VN Disk 2, with Kirino's fashion help, she lets her hair grow long and can replace her glasses for contact lens.
Personality[]
She is shown to be in love with Kyousuke, blushing at his compliments and going to many lengths for the sake of his reputation and what she believes would be the best for him. She becomes comically blind when she is not wearing her glasses and seems to sprout dog ears when complimented. Despite Kyousuke being oblivious to Manami's feelings and categorizing her as an old woman in a young girl's body, she continues to love him unconditionally and would support his romance with any girl other than Kirino due to their relationship as brother and sister.
As Kyousuke describes it, Manami is an "old lady stuck in the body of a teenage girl". She is gentle, soft-spoken, and always supportive of Kyousuke, giving him advice or just listening to his everyday concerns, just like an elder. Manami is also the passive-aggressive type. Whenever she is upset or angry on certain matters, Manami would still speak in her usual soft tone albeit in an ominous way, much to the fright to those around her, including Kyousuke. Despite being a kind and sweet girl, she's very earnest and able to show her unkind side when defending a loved one or when pushed over the edge (e.g. "Stopping Kyousuke from being condemned by his class"[1] & "Cat-fight with Kirino"). She's loving, caring and supportive, but will speak her mind if provoked, revealing a mature and sensible side of her character.
